Jimmies Force Overtime Against Mustangs Before Falling Just Short in Thrilling Matchup

St. Paul, Minn.— The University of Jamestown Men's Basketball team battled fiercely on the road, taking the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs into overtime before ultimately falling 69-66 in a thrilling non-conference contest at the Gangelhoff Center in Saint Paul, MN.

1st Half: Jimmies Take Early Control (Jamestown leads 23-21)
The Jimmies came out strong, getting three-pointers from Ford Okehi and building an early lead. The team secured nine offensive rebounds, converting those into second-chance points. Ford Okehi's deep shooting helped the Jimmies maintain a narrow 23-21 advantage after a defensive-minded first half.

2nd Half: Trading Blows and Late Tie (Tied 55-55)
The second half was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging runs. The Jimmies' interior game was strong, scoring 20 points in the paint. Key plays, including a steal by Ford Okehi that led to a Davis Walker fast-break three-pointer with just over a minute left, helped the Jimmies erase a late deficit. A final offensive sequence by the Mustangs resulted in free throws that were answered by a tip-in from Carson Woodford at the buzzer, forcing the game into overtime tied at 55-55.

Overtime: SMSU Secures Victory (SMSU wins 69-66)
SMSU started the overtime period with a quick lead. Despite a late three-pointer by Davis Walker that brought Jamestown within one point, the Mustangs executed late free throws to seal the tense 69-66 overtime victory.
