JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team lost 2-0 to visiting Minnesota Duluth on Friday afternoon at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
UMD got on the board late in the first half when Kamryn Beavers scored her first goal of the season in the 43rd minute, with an assist from Elaina Shromoff. The 1-0 score held through halftime.
The Bulldogs added an insurance goal in the second half when Miriam Marsan scored unassisted in the 79th minute to make it 2-0.
The Jimmie offense registered seven shots in the match, with four landing on goal. Kuhela Ledward led the attack with three shots, two of which were on target. Kyah Gabel and Haley Nelson each added one shot on goal.
Jamestown goalkeeper Skylar Lind had a busy day in net, facing 20 total shots (10 on goal) from Minnesota Duluth and recording eight saves. Her counterpart, Kaycee Chavez, stopped all four of UJ's shots on goal to earn the shutout.
With the loss, the Jimmies' record moves to 2-12-1 on the season. UJ hosts Bemidji State Sunday at noon for Senior Day.
