Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

The Jimmies compete against Minot State on Sunday afternoon.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team fought hard but fell 5–0 to Minot State on Sunday afternoon at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium. Despite the final score, the Jimmies showed resilience and created multiple scoring opportunities throughout the match.

Minot State struck early, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute with Iliana Rivera, and added goals from Sabrina Amezcua in the 8th and 24th minutes, followed by Edelin Ortega in the 35th. The Beavers added one final goal in the 77th minute from Leah Salas, closing out the contest.

Jamestown generated 11 total shots, with chances created by Kyah Gabel, Vega Canada, Julliet Lopez, Haley Nelson, and Marisa Brown. Skylar Lind made three key saves over 81 minutes before Isa Garcia came in to finish the match, keeping the team competitive in goal.

The Jimmies showed grit and determination throughout the match, keeping pressure on Minot State and showcasing the depth and talent across their roster. The team will look to build on this effort as they prepare for their next challenge on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Augustana in Sioux Falls, aiming to continue improving and making an impact in conference play.
