BISMARCK, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 match-up to the University of Mary on Friday afternoon, October 17, 2025, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
Both sides battled through the first half with Jamestown goalkeeper Skylar Lind making several key saves to keep the deficit manageable at the break. Lind recorded five first-half saves as the Jimmies' defense held off multiple Mary corner kicks and offensive pushes. The first-half scoring was initiated by Mary's Olivia Gardner at the 4:25 mark, assisted by MaLiah Burke. Gardner added her second unassisted goal at 23:20, putting Mary up 2-0 at the half.
The Marauders found their breakthrough again quickly in the second half when Dina Polanco put one past the keeper at 46:10, off an assist from Chloe Brand. Mary continued to apply pressure, with Tara Young adding to the lead at 52:36, assisted by Bella Kozlowski. Polanco scored her second goal of the match and the final tally for Mary at 62:40 via a penalty kick, extending the Mary lead to 5-0.
The Jimmies continued to fight until the final whistle, with Vega Canada recording two shots on goal and Haley Nelson adding one shot, but the team was unable to convert their opportunities against Mary's goalkeeper Kadyn Dilger, who recorded the shutout.
The Jimmies return back to Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium, to compete against Minot State, on Sunday, October 19th. Kick-off is scheduled for noon. This game is a special PINK OUT event wear your pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness!
