JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team dropped a 2–0 match-up to the University of Sioux Falls on Sunday afternoon at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
Both sides battled through a scoreless opening half, with goalkeeper Skylar Lind making several key saves to keep the game even at the break. Lind recorded five first-half saves as the Jimmies' defence held off multiple Sioux Falls corner kicks and offensive pushes.
The Cougars found their breakthrough in the 70th minute when Mara Parker put one past the keeper off an assist from Mariah Siem. Just over four minutes later, Emma Duerr added an insurance goal to extend the Sioux Falls lead to 2–0.
The Jimmies continued to fight until the final whistle, holding strong defensively and pushing forward late, but were unable to convert their opportunities.
The Jimmies return to action next week as they continue their home stand at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium against the University of Mary.
