ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Jamestown women's wrestling team went 1-3 Saturday at the Fred Johnson Duals, hosted by Augustana College at Tim Dodge Mezzanine at the Carver Center.
Jamestown lost 19-18 to Eureka College; 36-13 to Quincy University; 32-11 to Augustana College; and defeated Cornell College 28-11.
The Jimmies had six wrestlers compete on the day, winning 12 of 19 matches wrestled in the four duals. UJ was a perfect 6-0 in contested matches against Cornell.
Ninth-ranked
Allyssa Johnson was 4-0 at 160 pounds and pinned three of her opponents, including Eureka's Svanna Berry in 1:19, Quincy's Alexa Valdez in 2:14, and Cornell's Adison Musser in 2:41.
Ann Marie Meiman went 3-1 at 145 pounds, including a pin of Cornell's Aven Burke in 2:38.
Celia Jaeger was 2-1 at 180 pounds, pinning Sydney Newberg of Cornell in 1:08.
Grace Todhunter (207) had UJ's quickest pin of the day, needing just 61 seconds to defeat Cornell's Maddie Pulis.
Abby Ewing (131) and
Jenna Baarson (107) also had wins for the Jimmies.
Jamestown will travel to Dickinson, N.D., on Sunday, January 12 for a triangular with Dickinson State and Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) beginning at 3 p.m. Central.
