Jamestown, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men's basketball team came up short in a home battle with the Dickinson State Blue Hawks on Friday night.
Silas Bennion had 19 points,
Owen Hektner had 10, and
Jimmy Llinas had 16 points and 14 rebounds for his third double-double in three games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies started strong, scoring 11 points to the Blue Hawks five, forcing a timeout call from the Dickinson bench. The Jimmies hung onto their lead for a few more minutes, but back-to-back triples from the Blue Hawks inched them ahead 17-15.
- The Blue-Hawks went on a 10-0 run after this leaving the Jimmies to play catch up with six minutes remaining in the half.
- The Jimmies struggled to score the rest of the half, only adding eight more points to the board while the Blue Hawks added 15.
- Down 23-42 to start the second half, the Jimmies amped up their defense and chipped away at their deficit.
- Three steals in three straight defensive possessions, two from Bennion and one from Hektner, converted to six points for the Jimmies and fueled their offense as they broke their double-figure deficit with 11 minutes and change to go.
- The Jimmies got as close as six points four different times in the remaining minutes but could not quite catch the Blue Hawks and trailed 69-77 at the final buzzer.
- The Jimmies improved their shooting percentage from 33.33% in the first half to 55.56% in the second.
- The Jimmies recorded nine steals on the night. Bennion and Hektner combined for seven of them, and Cole Glasgow and Anthony Walters each added one.
