Jamestown, N.D — The #24 ranked University of Jamestown women's basketball team was defeated by Valley City State University 91-75 Saturday afternoon at the Harold Newman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Jimmies and the Vikings started the game off in a back and forth battle trading shots  
• The Jimmies finished the first quarter behind just by three 22-19
• In the second quarter at 8:41 a Kate Cordes three pointer tied the game 22-22 
• The Vikings responded by going on a 12-2 run with 5:09 left in the quarter to widen their lead 42-29 and end the half ahead 45-33
• The Jimmies tried to make a comeback going on a 13-2 run to start the fourth but a record setting 11-11 three point shooting night and 38 points by VSCU Ashlyn Diemert proved to be too much to overcome 
• Kate Cordes led Jamestown with 18 points followed by Hannah Hagel with 10 points  
• Hagel also led the Jimmies with four rebounds   
• Kate Busek had a team high of four assists, and Samantha Paulsen recorded three steals
