CHADRON, Neb.— Chadron State College scored the final 17 points of Thursday evening's game, defeating the University of Jamestown football team 17-10 at Don Beebe Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmie defense was responsible for the first score of the game. On third-and-1 from the UJ 31-yard line, UJ linebacker Jed Rantz forced a Jake Marschall fumble, and defensive back Parker Chaffee recovered the ball and returned it 68 yards for a touchdown. Aanon Peterson's extra point made it 7-0 with 3:17 left in the first quarter.
- Neither team found the end zone for the remainder of the first half as Jamestown took a 7-0 halftime lead. Chadron State threatened in the second quarter, getting down to the UJ 8-yard line. The drive covered 64 yards on 9 plays and took 4:45 off the clock but ended in a turnover on downs.
- Jamestown began the second half on a positive note, with Colton Schneider recovering a muffed Chadron State kickoff return at the Eagle 20-yard line. Peterson extended the Jimmie lead to 10-0 with a 32-yard field goal at the 13:23 mark.
- The Eagles got on the board with a 21-yard field goal on the next drive, and the score remained 10-3 going into the fourth quarter.
- Chadron State capped off an 80-yard drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Wyatt Sprague to Jamahd Monroe to tie the game with 12:48 to play, then took the lead on the next drive. The Jimmies prepared to punt on fourth down from their own 26-yard line, but the snap went into the end zone. Rylan Wehr recovered for Chadron State and the Eagles went ahead 17-10.
- UJ's final two drives ended in a turnover on downs and an interception.
- Jamestown was held to just 114 yards of total offense and was 2 of 14 on third down. Johnny Grann completed 13 of 24 passes for 78 yards and Gavin Blomdahl carried 12 times for 39 yards. Erastus Antsino caught 3 passes and Caleb Powell had 2 catches for 22 yards.
- Mason Parker led the Jimmie defense with 11 total tackles and a sack. Parker also intercepted a pass and forced a fumble. Rantz made nine stops, and Chaffee and Ishmael Hall also had interceptions.
FOR THE FOES
- Sprague completed 8 of 13 passes for 63 yards and Miguel Larios completed 4 of 8 passes for 17 yards.
- Marschall ran for 110 yards on 30 carries. Grant Swenson caught 4 passes for 15 yards and Brodie Roden had 42 receiving yards on 3 catches.
