BUTTE, Mont. — The University of Jamestown women's basketball team defeated Montana Technological University 72-66 Saturday afternoon at the Kelvin Sampson Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies came out on a hot streak making the first six of their field goal attempts and had an impressive 17-9 lead halfway through the first quarter.
- Kate Cordes led the way shooting 4-5 from the field and 3-4 from behind the arch finishing the quarter with 12 points.
- In the second quarter the Jimmies started to struggle from the field only shooting 3-17 from the field.
- The Orediggers took advantage and cut into the Jimmies lead by going on an 8-0 run scoring streak to end the half 36-34.
- As before, some halftime adjustments from the Jimmies made for a spectacular second half by opening the third quarter on a 9-0 scoring run and gaining another double digit lead.
- The Orediggers put up a fight and came within two in the fourth but the Jimmies were to much to overcome.
- Kate Cordes led Jamestown with 27 points followed by Kate Busek with 11 points.
- Jailyn Martinson was also in double digits with 10 points.
- Megan Oswald and Hannah Hagel each grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
- Cordes passed out five assists, and five Jimmies recorded one steal each.
