JAMESTOWN, N.D.— Kate Cordes had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds to help lead the 24
th-ranked University of Jamestown women's basketball team to a 75-60 win over Dickinson State (N.D.) University Friday evening at Harold Newman Arena in the North Star Athletic Association opener for both teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dickinson State took an 8-4 lead early in the game, but four free throws from Jessika Lofstrom and a three-pointer by Cordes put Jamestown ahead 11-8.
- The Blue Hawks closed the quarter with the final four points to lead 12-11 going into the second period.
- After shooting 19 percent in the first, UJ hit on 40 percent of their shots in the second on the way to outscoring DSU 20-15.
- Cordes scored with 7:42 left before halftime to make it 17-16, giving the Jimmies a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
- Dickinson State closed the gap to 34-31, only to see Cordes connect on back-to-back threes and Hannah Hagel score from inside, turning the lead into 11 points in just 75 seconds.
- Jamestown closed out the game with a 23-16 fourth-quarter scoring edge as seven different players contributed points over the final 10 minutes.
- Joining Cordes in double figures was Kate Busek with 10. Megan Oswald narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
- Busek and Jayden Wiest each had three assists.
