BILLINGS, Mont.— Kate Cordes had 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists as the No. 24 University of Jamestown women's basketball team won its eighth straight game, 72-65 over Rocky Mountain College Saturday evening at Fortin Education Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies took an early 7-0 lead after Jayden Wiest's three-pointer at 5:37 of the first quarter.
- RMC went on a 15-1 run over the next 3:45 to go in front 15-8, then ended the quarter leading 20-13.
- Jamestown trailed by as many as eight in the second quarter but used back-to-back threes from Kate Cordes to trim the deficit to 34-32.
- Hannah Hagel scored UJ's first eight points of the third quarter, and her basket at the 7:22 mark gave Jamestown a 40-38 lead.
- After leading by seven, the Jimmies saw Rocky come back and get within 54-51 going into the fourth quarter.
- UJ led 62-61 with 5:47 to play, but baskets by Cordes and Wiest stretched the lead back to 5 at the three-minute mark.
- Jamestown made three of four free throws down the stretch to help preserve the lead.
- Cordes shot 7-for-11 from three-point range, while Wiest went 5-for-9 beyond the arc and matched her career high with 18 points.
- Hagel added 8 points and 5 rebounds, and Megan Oswald had 6 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.
