HOW IT HAPPENED

  • An 8-4 run by the Jimmies in the opening set gave UJ a 15-10 and forced a Trojan timeout. Dakota State eventually trailed by as many as five, but kept chipping away at the deficit to make it 20-19. • Trailing 17-16 in the fourth, the Jimmies got kills from Charlee Krieg and Gracie Adamson followed by a DSU attack error and went in front 19-17. Anderson and Aleah Zieske had the final two kills for UJ as the match went to the fifth set.

The Jimmies rallied once again, using two kills by Adamson, a block by Krieg and Olson, and a Zieske ace to draw level at 14-14.
