Get to Know Navonn ... 

Who or what inspired you to start playing basketball growing up? 

• My two older brothers Alex and Delano, as well as players like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook .      

Do you have any pregame superstitions or routines? 

• I never wear the same shoes 2 games in a row, and I pray before my games. 

Tell us about your favorite basketball moment as a player or fan? 

• My favorite moment as a basketball players is hitting the game winner my senior year against Champlin Park. 

Who is your favorite basketball player? 

• All time - Kobe Bryant, Current - Kevin Durant 

What is one talent you have outside the game of basketball? 

• I am bilingual and fluent in Spanish. 

What do you hope every Jimmie fan says after they see our team play? 

• This team really knows how to play together, play unselfish basketball, grind out games for wins, and know how to have fun as a unit.

Why did you choose UJ and what do you like about being a Jimmie student- athlete? 

• I chose UJ because of the welcoming atmosphere, the great coaching staff, the way they play as a team, and the great facilities. Being a student athlete at UJ I like that I have the available resources to help grow my game, and I also like that most students are student-athletes so the professors are very understanding on what we go through.

High School  

Navonn received the Mr. Falcon Award for best representing Armstrong High School basketball and the Hard Hat Award for being the hardest worker. He was also honored with the Reserve Award for his significant contributions to the team. As the 2023-2024 team captain, he helped lead his squad to a 15-13 record during his senior year. 

Personal  

Navonn is the son of Corey and Justina. He is majoring in exercise science.
