The University of Jamestown archery team opened spring break with a strong performance at the Vegas State Archery Tournament held February 28–March 1. Jimmie archers recorded multiple podium finishes across several divisions while also earning a team placement in the ND ACA Vegas Collegiate Sweepstakes.
Leading the way for the Jimmies in the barebow division was
Madison Meyers, who placed second in both the Adult Female and Collegiate Female categories.
Joshua Borth also had a strong showing in barebow competition, finishing third in the Adult Male division and second in the Collegiate Male division.
The Jimmies also saw success in freestyle competition.
Lisa McMullen secured second place in the Freestyle Collegiate Female division, while
Isaac Spiegl added another podium finish with a second-place performance in the Freestyle Collegiate Male division.
In the Modern Bowhunter division,
Dillon Splinter earned first place in the Collegiate Male category, highlighting a strong overall weekend for the program.
As a team, the University of Jamestown placed third in the ND ACA Vegas Collegiate Sweepstakes with a total team score of 1,481.
The tournament marked a successful start to the team's spring competition schedule as the Jimmies continue to build momentum throughout the season.
