JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Jimmie softball team began its weekend series with Bellevue (Neb.) University Friday afternoon, splitting a pair of games at the Nelson Family Bubble.

GAME ONE
- The Jimmies' Hope Ransome and Bellevue's Katie Cunningham matched zeroes through the first five innings until the Bruins broke through with a run in the top of the sixth.
- In the seventh, Bellevue strung three straight one-out singles to push home a run and increase their lead to 2-0.
- Maddie Spaeth was 2-for-3 and Lauren Weigel was 1-for-3 to account for the three Jimmie hits.
- Ransome (8-6) went all seven innings, striking out eight and walking just one.
GAME TWO
- Abby Blair pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings to help the Jimmies take a 7-1 game two victory.
- Blair improved to 9-6 on the year after allowing one earned run on six hits and struck out two.
- Jamestown gave Blair all the run support she would need on an RBI double by Kayla Quintanilla and an RBI single by Hope Ransome in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead.
- A Bellevue error led to another UJ run in the third inning, then the Jimmies tacked on two more runs in the fifth on RBI doubles by Lauren Weigel and Quintanilla.
- Trinity Gregg hit a two-run, inside-the-park home run in the sixth to make it 7-0.
- Bellevue got on the board with a single run in the top of the seventh.
- Gregg, Quintanilla, Ransome, and Maddie Spaeth each had two hits.
