In an electrifying showdown, the University of Jamestown men's volleyball team put up an incredible fight but ultimately came up just short, losing to (RV) Ottawa University Arizona in a 3-2 match at Faith Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies and the Spirit came out to battle in the first set matching point for point until a 5-0 scoring run by the Spirit gave them the advantage 8-3
- The Jimmies were able to get the match within 2 with an error by the Spirit makignt he match 17-15 but the Spirit powered forward and won set one 25-21Â Â
- In the second set the Jimmies managed to flip the script and go on a their own 5-0 scoring run taking and taking a 10-5 lead Â
- The Spirit did not give up and were able to crawl themselves backup to tie the set late 22-22 with an error from the JimmiesÂ
- The Jimmies then were able to outscore the Spirit 3-1 with a kill by Ajani Layne and two Spirit errors to take the second set 25-23
- In the third set the Jimmies were able to jump out to a quick 9-4 lead with a kill by Tysen Myers and many Spirit errorsÂ
- As before the Spirit were able to crawl back from behind and with a 5-0 scoring run managed to take the lead from the Jimmies 25-24
- The Jimmies responded again late and managed to outscore the Spirit 4-1 to take the third set 28-26
- In the fourth set the Spirit were able to jump ahead quickly to a 6-1 leadÂ
- The Jimmies tried to respond but the Spirit were in full control and won the fourth set 25-20
- In the fifth set it was a back and forth battles with each team matching points Â
- The Jimmies were able to take a 10-8 lead with a kill by Tysen Myers but the Spirit responded with a 3-0 scoring run to regain the lead 11-10
- The Jimmies responded with a kill by Michal Niemiec to 12-11 lead but the Spirit scored the last four points of the set to win the set and the match 15-12
