MOORHEAD, Minn. – The University of Jamestown women's soccer team came up short in a 2-1 loss to MSU Moorhead Sunday afternoon at Nemzek Soccer Field.
MSU Moorhead opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a goal from Brooklyn Broderick, assisted by Madison Sharp, to take a 1-0 lead. Goalkeeper Skylar Lind kept the Jimmies within reach, making six first-half saves to send Jamestown into the break down by one.
The Jimmies equalized in the 59th minute when Bailey Fox found the back of the net, finishing off a pass from Nellie Brown to make it 1-1. The goal marked Fox's first of the season and Brown's first assist.
The Dragons regained the lead in the 70th minute as Lilly Johnson scored off an assist from Madalynn Hopkins, securing the 2-1 win for MSU Moorhead.
Lind finished with 12 saves for Jamestown, while Haley Nelson led the Jimmies with four shots. Jamestown recorded 14 total shots and earned five corner kicks in the match.
The Jimmies return home next weekend to host Southwest Minnesota State.
