SYLVANIA, Ohio-- The University of Jamestown men's volleyball team lost twice on Friday to conclude the Gray Wolf Invitational, hosted by Lourdes University. The Jimmies lost 3-1 to Hope International (Calif.) and 3-1 to Lourdes.
THE BASICS

MATCH ONE VS. HOPE INTERNATIONAL
- The Jimmies started out strong in the first set, outhitting Hope International .364 to .172 on the way to a 25-22 win.
- Trailing 8-7 in the second set, UJ fell victim to a 4-0 run that turned the momentum to the side of the Royals. Later on in the set, Hope International used a 5-0 run to push their lead to nine points.
- Jamestown rallied from a six-point deficit to take an 18-17 lead and would later go in front 21-19.
- Hope International closed out the set by winning the final six points to take a 2-1 match lead.
- Neither team led by more than two points in a marathon fourth set, with the Royals eventually taking it by a score of 36-34. The Royals hit .351 in the set, their highest of the match, although the Jimmies had a 22-17 edge in kills.
- Michal Niemiec led UJ with 19 kills, followed by Gaven Hackley with 13 and Tomasz Swiderski with 11.
- Gabriel Ocasio passed out a career-high 47 assists.
- Niemic and Ethan Hoffert each had 9 digs.
MATCH TWO VS. LOURDES
- Backed by a .500 hitting percentage in the first set, Lourdes led 1-0 after winning 25-19.
- The Jimmies responded with a 25-17 win in the second set, outhitting Lourdes .208 to -.038.
- Both teams had negative hitting percentages in the third set, but Lourdes came away with a 25-22 victory to go ahead 2-1 in the match.
- UJ was troubled by attack errors over the final two sets, committing 19 errors against 20 kills, while Lourdes had 11 kills and only 4 errors in the fourth set to win 25-18.
- Tomasz Swiderski finished with 15 kills, while Michal Niemiec had 11 and Tysen Myers added 7.
- Gabriel Ocasio had 24 assists, followed by Kaden Jenkins with 6.
- Gaven Hackley posted a career-high 13 digs.
