University of Jamestown head track and field coach Jarvis Jelen announced Brandon Lewis will be joining his staff as an assistant coach.
Lewis spent last season as a volunteer assistant track and field coach for the University of Minnesota, where he spent most of his time coaching jumps, mutli events, sprints, and hurdles.
While at Minnesota, Lewis focused most of his time on the multis, where he coached a heptathlete to third place at the 2024 outdoor Big Ten Championships. Minnesota's women's team also won the 2024 outdoor Big Ten team title.
Originally from Bismarck, N.D., Lewis competed in the sprints and horizontal jumps for six seasons at North Dakota State University. While at NDSU, Lewis was a five-time individual Summit League champion, and earned five other top three finishes throughout his career. He is a three-time NCAA Preliminary Round Qualifier and the school record holder in the indoor long jump, as well as number two all-time in the outdoor long jump.
Lewis graduated from North Dakota State in 2022 with a degree in physical education and health education and a minor in psychology. In 2024, he also graduated with a master's degree in leadership in physical education and sport.
