The University of Jamestown Shooting Sports team competed in the
Fall Collegiate Championship on Saturday, September 19, putting together a strong performance and finishing
third place overall as a team.
Several Jimmies earned top finishes throughout the competition, including multiple athletes competing in shoot-offs.
James Meyer competed in a shoot-off for first place in the male singles event and finished with a
third-place finish.
Noah Poppe also competed in a shoot-off, battling for third place in doubles. Poppe ultimately finished
fourth overall in the event.
Will Wanzek had a strong showing throughout the tournament. Wanzek competed in a shoot-off for fifth place in male singles before being eliminated. He also earned
first place in male doubles, along with being named
High Overall Athlete (HOA).
The Jimmies' strong individual performances helped the University of Jamestown finish
third place overall with a score of 466/500 at the Fall Collegiate Championship.
The team will look to carry this momentum into its upcoming competitions as the fall season continues.
