MANDAN, N.D. – Goaltender Brandon Weare stopped all 22 shots he faced, and four different players had goals to help lead the No. 6 University of Jamestown ACHA D1 men's hockey team to a dominant 4-0 road shutout over No. 12 University of Mary on Saturday night at Starion Sports Complex.
After a scoreless first period, the Jimmies found their offensive spark in the second. Cai Robinson broke the tie at the 3:59 mark, netting the eventual game-winning goal with an assist from Brad Fortin.
UJ's offense took over in the third period, adding three more goals to seal the victory. James Hooton scored an unassisted insurance goal at 6:29. Later, Matthew McIntyre found the back of the net at 9:14, assisted by Carter Johnson. Fortin capped off the scoring with a power-play goal at 18:30, with assists from Trey Stephenson and McIntyre.
