MINOT, N.D.—The University of Jamestown women's hockey team took on the Minot State University Beavers in the first game of its opening road weekend series Friday afternoon at Maysa Arena. The Beavers scored the final three goals of the game on the way to a 5-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Paige Kozak of Minot State helped put her team in the lead with a goal in the first and another at the 6:59 mark of the second to make it 2-0.
- Kiran Vugteveen cut the deficit in half with her third goal of the season, coming at 11:30 of the second and assisted by Alivia Tilbury.
- The Beavers retook the two-goal lead as Makenna Beard made it 3-1 with her first of the year at 15:07.
- Krissy Rink (2:52) and Abby Tallman (19:31) added power play goals in the third period to round out the scoring.
- UJ had successfully killed off three prior penalties in the game before the Beavers capitalized on both opportunities in the third.
- Shots were 45-33 in favor of MSU. Lilah Drew made 40 stops while Minot State's Haylie Biever finished with 32 saves.
